Feb 18: Songs for these Times
We gather in solidarity and with inspiration from the profound singing movement led by Singing Resistance and our colleagues in Minneapolis as they organize daily to protest ICE's systemic abuses and to protect their most vulnerable communities. Singing is not only a way to unite our voices against tyranny; it sustains long-term engagement as we, too, orgnanize to protect our most vulnerable communities.
Musicians featured: mo washburn, Lydia Violet, MaMuse, Lauren Arrow, Kele Nitoto, RAD, Lo Brown, Jay McCarrick. Click here for info!
Feb 27 - 28 - 29: Purim Spiel at Chochmat
THE SEMIQUINTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF SHUSHAN! King Achashverosh may croak any day now. The kingdom may fall to pieces. But fear not!
Tech Broligarchs have already positioned themselves (quite cunningly) to sweep up the throne, divvy up the riches of our great nation, and trickle a dickle of economics down to their loyal countrymen. Click here for info and tix
April 9-13: Manna Festival
I am so thrilled to be invited into Manna this year as their Musical Director! Manna is a festival of Jewish earth-based spirituality and cultural arts.
Rooted in the spirit of Radical Hereness (Doykait), MANNA is a place to slow down, honor the sacred, celebrate Jewish culture, and explore what it means to be like the Israelites of old - wandering, discovering, and building pathways toward collective liberation. Come as you are, bring your vision, and share generously from the heart.
As their musical director, I’ll be inviting more community-led and inspired musical inclusion. If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, get in touch!
May 1-2: Kol Festival
A Retreat for Jewish Music Across the Diaspora Join us for a weekend of music, Shabbat practices, and community building. This unique participatory retreat brings together singers, musicians, and learners of diverse backgrounds and ages to explore both ancestral and modern Jewish music. Everyone is a learner, everyone is a teacher. Together with our faculty teachers, we will co-create the weekend. Bring your songs and spirit to share. We are committed to making space for Jewish and non-Jewish people of all backgrounds and intend to include a diverse array of music cultures. We sing and play for our love of healing, community and liberation, and to ground and elevate ourselves.
