We will be learning harmony-rich songs that include Jewish, Americana/ Folk, European and Balkan with the option of choosing songs as a group to learn. We will be collaborating on songs for the Solstice Showcase. Practicing cultural integrity with song sharing is important, which means that we will only be singing songs that we have a direct relationship with or that come from our own backgrounds or lineages.
Current song possibilities: Hot Knife by Fiona Apple, Whispers by Ayla Nereo, Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap, We Shall Be Known by Mamuse, Parting Glass (traditional Scottish), Eli Eli by Hannah Szenes, White Winter Hymnal by Fleet Foxes, Lo Yisa Goy (traditional Jewish) Net of Remembrance by Ahlay Blakely, Bright Morning Star (traditional Appalachian), Hallelujah by Mamuse, Wild Mountain Thyme (traditional Scottish), Oseh Shalom (Jewish) Evening Rise by Christian Bolleman, Sewee Sewee by Mountain Man, some of Lauren's original material and so many others!

This group is intended for beginner and advanced harmonizers alike, and the container will be more rigorous than my previous groups. Be prepared for constructive feedback so we can train and blend together.
Depending on your musical background there may be additional home explorations that will be expected. This group is not for you if you are not available for loving public correction or feedback.

COVID and general health protocol: everyone will be asked to take a rapid test the days we meet and participants will agree to not attend if they are experiencing symptoms of any kind or have been in direct contact with someone exhibiting symptoms of a contagious illness.
